A Look Back on 2025 and What’s Ahead in 2026

A Look Back on 2025 and What’s Ahead in 2026

The year 2025 was not exactly what I hoped it would be. Aside from the Orange Man causing so much stress–the joys of marrying an American and having to forever pay income tax to support that shit unless Andrew revokes their citizenship–other things have also been not so great, such as my autoimmune BS continuing to be BS and refusing to go into remission. I’m currently on a social media hiatus so that I can focus on healing a variety of health issues.

A Look Back on 2025

So, how did 2025 look? I injured my elbow thanks to hypermobility. And I tore my calf thanks to my spinal cord tumour. And, well, I didn’t achieve most of my goals. Instead of focusing on what I didn’t achieve because I had to carefully balance getting things done without adding extra stress which would make my health worse, let’s talk about what I accomplished. At the age of 49, I medalled three times as a natural bodybuilder: two first places and one third place. Not too shabby.I survived the filming of a feature-length documentary about me which will be released on CBC Gem in Spring of 2027. That was a lot. It’s a small miracle that I survived it.I was also cast to host a TV show and for a pilot and that is all I can say about that right now. I had to sit on the news about the documentary for well over a year. So, let’s see how long I have to sit on the details of this. And I survived all the anti-trans bullshit that is happening in both Canada and the states, and that ain’t nothing.

What’s Ahead in 2026

So, what do I have coming up? Some bad and some good.Let’s start with, I’ll be 50 on January 9, 2026 which is amazing for so many reason! The fact I’m alive is a miracle. To celebrate, I’ll be spending a weekend in a castle with my closest friends. And now some bad.I have been effectively banned from natural bodybuilding which is shit. Shortly, a human rights complaint will be filed for which I have pro bono legal rep which is good.I have at least one surgery confirmed for 2026. The first is at the end of January. As I said, my autoimmune stuff has not been great. Like, 13 medical appointments in the last 6.5 weeks not great dealing with all the ways in which it is currently attacking me. One of those ways in my mouth. It has decided to destroy most of my teeth and my gums. And because there is no sign of remission, despite multiple immunosuppressants including a biologic, we have decided the best course of treatment is to yeet all my teeth and get dentures. This almost happened two weeks ago, but my surgery was cancelled while I was the hospital waiting for it.The other possible surgeries are two ortho surgeries: one on my right elbow and one on my right leg. Because my elbow surgery isn’t urgent, it could be a while. My leg surgery may be sooner rather than later if it turns out I tore my ligament clean off. We will see.Other than those big things, here are my goals for 2026:PHYSIQUE – Gain another 2kg in muscle.ACCOMPLISH HEALTH AND FITNESS -The goals I didn’t accomplish last year, which is:
  • Grow waitlist to 10 people
  • Reveal Phase 2 website
BODYBUILDING/FITNESS ANTI-DIET CULTURE FOOD BOOK -The goals I didn’t accomplish last year, which is:
  • Finalize recipe list and outline
  • Write the proposal
SCHOOL -100% complete (wish me luck!)LEISURE -Make time to crochet. This goal is the most important one as it will be a necessary stress-reducer to survive all the things. I started this goal early. The featured image is my first project, which I completed in five two-hour sessions, give or take an hour.So that is that.I hope you all have a great new year and don’t forget to make time to take care of yourself! During these times, it is more important than ever!
